Fluffy

With school out, there is so much more time to be lazy and create. Sam and Casey spent this week creating this video with Fluffy (Casey's fave stuffed animal) as the star. Now I know what was taught during all of those computer tech hours at school.
p.s. make sure you can hear the audio

Peach picking

Saturday, we went to Schnepf Farms to pick a loot of peaches. We had a great time filling two boxes of the ripest, sweetest peaches ever. For the next few days, we enjoyed peach ice cream, peaches and cream pancakes, peach crepes, and peach cobbler. But, our favorite was just the plain peaches, peeled and eaten straight. It made me wish for a peach tree to enjoy all of the time.

Barnyard Moosical

This was one of the best music productions ever. Definitely an award winner. Of course, we heard the songs for days after the moosical was over.

Goin' Buggy

After Zach flopped and cried on his bed, I wasn't sure what to expect. He had tried out for the Goin' Buggy second grade play and didn't get the part that he wanted. Luckily, he got over not being the Commissioner and ended up as "Big Eye Bug." I would have to say that he had a great time and was thrilled because he got to wear his black basketball shorts, black Under Armor shirt, and black socks pulled over his knees for 5 days straight for mistaken dress rehearsals and the actual play day. Lots of small laundry loads later, we got to see the end result and thought that the whole second grade did a flybulous job.

Kindergarten Graduation

I've never been one to cry at kdg. graduation. I promised myself I wouldn't this year. But, I have to say, more than ever before, I wished that I could stop and freeze time, leaving my kids in the best place they could be. What is that place? A place surrounded by friends and free to be a kid. I loved watching Maggie and admiring her growth over the year. I loved watching her loving her friends. But, I loved most of all that she will always be mine.

Mother's Day

What a great mother's day. It all started with a program at school with Casey and ended with zucchini casserole. Lots of homemade gifts and love followed by typical Jensen behavior. But, all in all, it was a great day with lots of reflection on the gifts of my own mother has given to me. So, a happy mother's day to all.

I just decided to

I decided to make a dress for Maggie without a pattern or a tutorial. I just got out the machine and started sewing. After a few nights and sometimes being frustrated, the bodice actually fits, I installed a recycled zipper, and Maggie loved it. After I was done, I saw some things I would do differently next time. But, I was satisfied with the result and Maggie was thrilled. So, thanks to Nana's scrap bin for the brown dot, and to Maggie for being such a sweet girl to sew for.

Another recon

After permission was granted, I turned a shirt Maggie never wore into a skirt for Jill. It's nice not to wait for hand-me-downs.

Update

It seems as though all of the kids are better, Ron's cranium is improved, but still no answers after 2 doctor visits. Maybe the third trip to the doctor next week will be the trick. It is assumed that it is either a bacterial infection or a virus. It has been fun to field questions on whether I hit him on the head or not. Too bad I didn't have a better story to tell.

Uggghhh. . . .

What a week. Through headaches, fevers, tummy aches, dizzy spells, nausea, tylenol, doctor visits, bumps on heads, and Zach's "red sickness" - you don't want to ask, I am SOOOOOO ready to be done. It was an award winner last week and not the kind of award you want to win. It is really sad when the highlight of the week is a trip to Walmart. I felt like I had to remind Ron that Walmart certainly does not count as night out. Anyway, here is hoping for a sick free week. I guess we got our due.

(The cartoon is for Ron and the mysterious infection growing on his skull.) Like I said, not such a good week.
