Yippee, it has begun . . .

The annual consumption of way too many candy hearts has begun. But, oh, how I do love them. Especially the really soft Brach's hearts. I eat so many that I get sick to my stomach and I find that the sugar overload gives me canker sores on my tongue. I don't care. I continue to indulge because in 4 short weeks, Valentine's will be here and then, my precious
hearts will all be gone for another year.

Snow Day #3

Snow day #3 has come with completely frigid temps. I'm afraid to even let the kids go outside. Yuck.

Snow Day #2

Yes, school is out again today. The forecast is calling for a winter storm advisory with 2-4 inches of snow tonight, so that probably means no school tomorrow. It is reallllly cold so the snow can't melt and the kids can't stay outside for long without becoming popsicles. I am beginning to think that the most common phrase since I have been here is, "This is not usual weather for . . . (summer/fall/winter)" Everyone said the summer was more mild than usual, the fall more wet than usual, and the winter colder than they can ever remember. I am starting to think people are lying to me. We've got the gamecube going, books are being devoured, and the teasing is escalating. I'm glad I bought the big can of hot chocolate on my last visit to Walmart. Ron commented that it is in the 70's in AZ and that didn't help my frozen mindset at all. Anyway, with how things are going, we will have no vacation days left for the rest of the school year.

Our first true Snow Day

I really don't know why school was cancelled today. It's not snowing, the sun is shining, and there is only about an inch of snow on the ground. But, the rumor is as long as there is snow on the rural roads, we won't have school. Ozark girl, Michele, told me to be prepared for school to be out all week. So, out went the kids again this morning. Poor Sam is getting sore. But, Jill is loving the trashcan lid sled - as long as she doesn't end up in the snow.

Snow Day Clips

It snowed Saturday night and most of Sunday so the kids were in heaven. They rushed out this morning and had fun with homemade sleds and two foot hills.

Trip to AZ

We surprised the kids with a trip to AZ leaving Christmas night. It was such a great time and we all decided taking a trip for Christmas is the way to go. We ate good food, saw our favorite people, played lots of games, and visited the zoo. Thanks to all who took time to see us at the park and at Jill's. It was so fun to see everyone and the kids all agreed it is definitely the people that we miss the most.
