First Day of School 2011

The first day always brings a few jitters, but being more familiar with teachers and the routine seemed to help this year.  We dropped them all off without a hitch and now it's three o'clock and Jill and I are ready for them to come home.  But, I have to say Jill did enjoy having control of the TV today.  No compromising.  Tonight our back to school bash is scheduled.  I pressured Ron into moving the table to the entry again.  I find it fun, not so sure about him.  So, here we go with another year hoping to learn and hoping to grow.

2 years later

Two years later and a new toddler on the front porch.  Anna loves to help me water the flowers in the front.  As I snapped pictures, I couldn't help but remember a little Jill on the front porch two years ago when we moved into our house.

For Nana

Jill may be a performer.  It's still up for debate.  But, she does love to sing on her terms and when she does she has a crowd of listeners.  One of her most ardent fans is far away, so here is a video just for Nana.

One minute of not so safe fun

With a tornado warning and a flash flood alert in effect, the kids were out in the river behind our house before I could say no.  The weather here has been absolutely crazy the last 3 days.  More water than I have ever seen has been dumped on W.P.  Several businesses have flooded including the local quilt shop.  Soon, fabric I scored at the flood sale will be made into trek attire.  But, for today, the kids enjoyed a minute of fun that some proclaimed to be better than Disneyland.

thought process of a 3 year old

Mom:  Why are these scriptures in the refrigerator?
Jill:  I put them there so Anna wouldn't get them.

Who would have thought?  I have to give her a little credit because Anna didn't get the scriptures.

Big Spring

We took the jaunt over to see Big Spring a little east of us.  (Some people claim it to be the Waters of Mormon.)  We just know that it is very beautiful and we had a great day wandering the path around the spring and marvelling at the amount of water bubbling up from an unseen source.  AMAZING.
