Missing were the black snow pants. It is hard to remember where I keep the pants because we only use them once a year for kindergarten snow day. I searched everywhere, looking in all of the old clothes buckets, wondering the whole time why I am holding onto so many kids clothes. I went through 3 girls buckets, 4 boys buckets, and a few buckets with warm blankets in them. I looked on every shelf of every closet, wondering where in the world I had put the snow pants after last year. We got them years ago as a hand me down and they have been worn on snow day in 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, and now we needed them for SNOW DAY 2009. I looked on the shelves in the garage among the chaos. And still, no luck. We went to bed thinking that jeans tucked into boots were going to have to fulfill the need. Waking up early, I had a nagging thought in the back of my head to look under my bed. So, I drug out the black garbage bag full of team jerseys and there they were. Oh, we were excited. Jeans weren't going to have to be stuffed into the boots after all. Maggie got all geared up with snow pants, furry coat, gloves, boots, but no hat because it was too itchy.
I snuck up to the school at the end of the fun to see Maggie loving the pile of snow. The kids were having so much fun and Maggie even got to make a snowman, complete with a princess scarf. It was a beautiful day with no wind and wonderful sunshine. It was definitely a success. Now, I must remember where I put the pants for next year, Snow Day 2010 when Casey will get to feel the thrill.

snow day - way fun. I want to know what your idea is for when there's no more need for the snowpants. It could make a cute... *shrug shoulders* cute something.
