There are so many different things that Ron and I crack up about living here in Missouri. I decided I needed to start recording them so I don't forget. So the Missouriism for today is:
You don't prepay for breakfast/lunch at the school. Your kids go eat whenever they want and then the school bills you at the end of the month by sending the bill home with your kid. Come on, really?
And about breakfast while we are on the subject. Did RMRE have a breakfast option? I don't think so. Everyone here eats breakfast at school. (Gross) It is social/get into trouble/throw away 90% of the food on your tray hour. Believe me, I witnessed it first hand - and, of course, my kids are begging. Waaahhh.

I'm going to love this list. Yeah, Mesa had the breakfast option. I always wanted to go protest saying let's take the food they are throwing away and give it as bonuses to our teachers. *sigh* Then again, school's sometimes spend $$ funny ways.
I never knew about the breakfast option. You must be a mean mommy not letting those children eat that yummy breakfast at school. On second thought, knowing you for the marshmellow you are, the kids will be eating breakfast at least once a week.
oh ha wow, eating breakfast at school is really NOT the social thing to do here...pretty much for kids that have no food at home! funny the ways schools do things.
Iowa has its quirks too. They celebrate Halloween a day early and you have to tell a joke to get candy.
They also have some strangely named restaurants, i.e Maid Rite. Do you have that in MISSOURI?
Funny, I would wonder if my kids ate well all day.
Hope that the school year is going well for all of you!
