It just happened to happen on the night we had planned a Young Women overnighter. The girls had been pleading for a sleepover and the leaders had finally given in. The sirens sounded, and the tornados began about 6:00. The phone calls started to come. Sister H couldn't come, Camille and Summer had tornados near their house so they would be a no show, Sister B would have to head home soon, leaving me alone with the 9 brave souls and the storm. The basement became my best friend ever and we played scum, spoons, Wii fit, the candy bar game, made camp journals, and watched Pride and Prejudice - the dumb version. This morning, all over the county they are assessing the damage, but after my own tornado, I just want to go back to bed.

What a great picture of the tornado. I assume you weren't the one out taking pictures.
You are a great leader! I'm sure the girls will never forget the experience.
Scary, on all different kinds of levels. Shouldn't have read this today - you wrote candy bar and it's fast Sunday. Wish you lived closer.
wow! I can't believe they called you into young womens. What a night!
WHEW! Glad that you are okay. Now aren't you glad for that basement?
Scary Katie! How close did it get to you guys? Hope all is well.
That would be scary to see the storm and hear the sirens, Sounds like the sleepover was a lot of fun anyhow, and I'm sure those girls will never forget that night!
Aubrey got a chance to look at your blog and loved the picture of the kids with their colored tongues and thinks Maggie looks a lot older. She watched a lot of the videos you had posted too :)
I had to explain to her that Eliza had come to visit, that she didn't move there too.
I think you were the bravest of all! Did they report the damage to your house as part of the tornado report? :)
