Something I have had to learn since moving to Missouri is that, for some reason, valentine boxes are a boost to one social status. Cool valentine box = cool for the day. So, when Zach spied the giant balloon that has been floating around since Ron's birthday, he decided he would make a hot air balloon to hold his valentine haul. The day came, I dropped him off, watched him maneuver through the front door, and started to drive away. Before I left car line, he reappeared at the front door. I was worried that something had happened to his balloon, but no, he just wanted me to know that Lakin had made something far inferior to his, so he was awesome for the day. Funny, I didn't know I had competitive kids. Ha! Maggie ended up with a snake this year. She had a hard time fitting it on her desk, so the rattle ended up in the garbage. But, Casey made his by himself for the first time and did an awesome job on a cheetah. Not sure why I didn't end up with a picture of Case, but it was pretty great.
