Oh, where to start? A trip to NYC had been planned for years to celebrate someone special's 50th birthday. But, honestly, I never let myself get revved up because I wasn't so sure a different someone special would agree to a NYC extravaganza. But, the stars aligned and it happened. It took some special kind of magic like Nana babysitting, time off, and a hint of desire. But, boy, I am grateful for all of those things because it was a most amazing trip.
So, in pictures and a little narrative . . .
Flying in at night. Greatest view from the south tip of Manhattan up to Yankee stadium and then over where the Mets play. Even if we would have had to turn around and go home, it still would have been a successful trip. Best view ever.
The all essential Metro Card. A little disappointed that I didn't get a yellow one. Instead I got the commemorative 100 years of Grand Central card. It did grow on me.
Especially when placed in the pity case Kat got me.

First Subway ride out of Grand Central. A definite favorite experience.
Beautiful Grand Central Station. Saw a cockroach.
Saw two guys stop and relieve themselves on the side of a building. Saw two girls . . . well . . .
A short subway ride away was amazing sea salt and caramel hot chocolate. Delicioso.
Our waiter kept bringing napkins. Like, a lot of napkins. How did he know we are from SoMo?
